Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS Navigator Review
This is the first GPS I have owned, so as a beginner I have found this to be a really useful piece of kit. It is very easy and straight forward to set up and is usable pretty much out of the box. The display is clear and all of the different pages are easy to read. This is a basic GPS and so doesn't have maps, however I was given this so I could use it for Geocaching and it's excellent for that task. The only issue I have with the unit (which stops it from getting 5 stars) is the fact that the cable for attaching it to the PC is a serial cable. Very few people have serial port on their PC's so I had to fork out for a serial / USB adaptor. Now whilst this should be straight forward, not all adaptors will work with this unit. I hit lucky! I would recommend using this with a PC as it can be fiddly trying to enter longitude and latitude in using the unit itself. Overall as an entry level GPS this is a winner!
